VANILLA ORANGE CREAMSICLE OVERNIGHT PROATS

I absolutely love overnight protein oats and this creamy orange & vanilla combo is SUPER yummy.  A total hit with the 3 chicklets and my sometimes picky hubs! Of course, in keeping with my morning meal mantra, these oats also happen to be packed with micronutrients, fibre, healthy fats, protein, and adaptogens, too!

Ode to the Orange

Oranges are extremely nutrient dense.  For less than 100 calories per large orange, you get loads of vitamins & minerals (including 163% of the daily value for vitamin C!) along with disease-fighting, anti-inflammatory bioflavonoid antioxidants and over 4 grams of fibre.

Vanilla Orange Creamsicle Overnight Proats Recipe

Ingredients for 2 to 3 servings:

  • 1 cup gluten-free rolled oats

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond or nut-free milk

  • 1 cup canned organic full-fat coconut milk

  • 2 Tbsp white chia seeds

  • 2 Tbsp gluten-free flaxseed meal

  • 1/4 cup Nuzest Clean Lean vanilla protein powder (use code “DRTARA” for discount)

  • 2 tsp gelatinized maca powder (optional)

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • 1 cup diced fresh oranges

  • optional toppings: orange zest, toasted coconut chips, poppyseeds, or toppings of choice

Directions:

I usually double this recipe and prep a big batch of these hearty oats for my family of 5.  However, they can also be made in single-serving mason jars to grab-and-go.

  1. Put all of the ingredients except toppings in a bowl or single-serving mason jar(s) and stir well to combine.

  2. Cover and refrigerate overnight (or for a minimum of 6 hours).

  3. In the morning, stir, add toppings and enjoy!

Vanilla Orange Creamsicle Overnight Proats can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
