Zucchini is a very low calorie, fibre-rich and nutrient-dense summer squash. This makes it a great choice for healthy weight loss or maintenance. Furthermore, studies indicate that zucchini consumption could improve digestion and blood sugar regulation as well as thyroid, adrenal and prostate function.
Chlorella and spirulina are freshwater algae that have been ranked among the healthiest foods on the planet. Research suggests that these 2 superfoods can boost energy and metabolism; support the immune system and liver detoxification; improve skin, oral, gastrointestinal and cardiovascular health; and reduce the risk of certain cancers. For 2 servings, blend together until smooth:
- 1.5 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 1 cup frozen grated raw zucchini
- 1 cored diced apple
- 1 tsp chlorella powder*
