SPICED CANDIED NUTS (Healthy + Addictively Good)
/These Spiced Candied Nuts are the perfect crunchy snack—and they double as a gorgeous topper for salads, chia pudding, yogurt bowls, pancakes, waffles, or morning porridge. While store-bought versions often come loaded with refined sugar (and a hefty price tag), this homemade version is naturally sweetened, budget-friendly, and fully customizable.
Even better? They come together in minutes, and your kitchen will smell incredible while they bake.
Ingredients (Makes ~2 1/2 cups)
1 cup raw pecans
1 cup raw walnuts
1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds
2 Tbsp coconut oil
3 Tbsp sugar-free maple syrup (any monkfruit- or stevia-sweetened maple alternative) or pure maple syrup
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp freshly ground black pepper (about 4 turns of the grinder)
Directions
Preheat your oven to 325°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a small pot over medium-low heat, melt the coconut oil and whisk it together with the sugar-free (or regular) maple syrup.
Pour the mixture over the nuts and seeds, tossing well to coat.
Add the spices and mix thoroughly so everything is evenly seasoned.
Spread the mixture evenly onto your prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes, give them a gentle stir, and bake for another 10 minutes, or until golden and fragrant.
Cool completely before serving or storing (they crisp up as they cool).
Storage:
Room temperature: up to 1 week
