This yummy chocolate & pomegranate nice cream is so nutritious that you don't need an excuse to enjoy it! 

Nice cream -- or frozen bananas blended into soft serve -- is a healthy dairy-free alternative to ice cream.  This sweet-and-tangy version is absolutely loaded with antioxidants thanks to the pomegranate seeds and raw cacao powder. 

Cacao is the purest form of chocolate we can consume.  It is free of all the unhealthy sugar and other additives found in most processed chocolate.  And it is a nutritional powerhouse! 

Cacao is unbelievably rich in antioxidants and minerals including magnesium.  Furthermore, it is a great source of neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, making it a natural mood enhancer.

Nice cream is easy to make with a heavy-duty blender.  I use the frozen dessert setting on our Vitamix. You literally just throw everything into the container, turn it on, and push the ingredients into the blades with the tamper.  Then -- voila -- a delicious frozen treat in minutes! 

For 3 servings, blend together:

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen pomegranate seeds
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp raw cacao powder
  • pure maple syrup, stevia or agave to sweeten as desired

Top with fresh pomegranate tendrils and/or cacao nibs for a delightful crunch and serve immediately.
